4Excitement Comes In Many Forms

By Upstate New York Reader

Chain Reaction was described as "FICTION - ADULT: Science Fiction & Fantasy: Science Fiction" - we positively did not know that "Adult" meant pithy sex. If we had famous that Carina Press was an impress of a Harlequin intrigue line, we substantially would not have selected to examination a book - yet we had selected it and did examination it. Do use counsel if we select to examination this book.

The outline was of a Science Fiction thriller - and that it was. As Celene and Nils try to learn a Disrupter that roughly cost Celene her life, a also learn a good understanding about any other. The apparent strengths and weaknesses of these dual categorical characters are not what they appear. Each brings a multiple of abilities to a pursuit that lies ahead. Traveling by opposite tools of space in hunt of this new arms on a verge of being sole to PRAXIS, a sworn rivalry of a 8th Wing to that both Celene and Nils belonged, they confront pirates, insects, and coniverous animals before finally encountering Marek, a inventor. A conflict to a genocide insures that Mareks appurtenance will never again be a risk to Celene or a 8th Wing.

The fad does not stop - good it did stop, yet for a opposite kind of excitement. Though not Jules Verne or Edgar Rice Burroughs, a book is an sparkling read.

This examination is formed on a giveaway electronic duplicate of a book supposing by a publisher for a purpose of formulating this review.

4What a Reaction!

By akb--bookworm

I've been looking brazen to this story for utterly a prolonged time. we unequivocally enjoyed Collision Course, that is a totally opposite genre than her Blades of a Rose series. The universe Ms. Archer combined for her chosen 8th Wing warrior pilots, as good as a characters, was so immoderate that we reread COLLISON COURSE several times given we initial burst it open months ago.

We initial listened Lieutenant Celene Jur's name as a reason for Mara and Kell's rescue goal in COLLISION COURSE. She was taken serf after a puzzling device infirm her ship. She and her top-secret boat would have been sole during a black marketplace auction if she hadn't been rescued. Three months later, she has a possibility during reprisal when she receives intel on a male who built a device. Lieutenant Nils Calder, Engineering's golden-boy, has spent any notation given Celene's lapse in reckoning out what happened to her boat and lane it behind to a origin. Now that he knows, he's not subsidy down from Lieutenant Celene "Stainless" Jur's irritable glance and is dynamic to infer he is usually as means a warrior as he is with his gadgets. Soon, Celene and Nils are navigating a outdoor reaches of space, movement on an gross planet, infiltrating a high confidence stronghold, and pulling off a goal of a century on that hangs a predestine of millions.

What we loved:
1. Celene--she is strong, disciplined, and some-more means than anyone, good maybe solely Kell. Her nickname is "Stainless Jur" and has turn utterly a fable among her people since of her cruel integrity and stellar record. She's pulled off extraordinary missions with a cold-calm. But her mythological standing creates for a cold bed as group tend to ceremony her from distant and those who brave get tighten shortly turn unhappy to learn a mythological "Stainless Jur" is usually human.
2. Nils--he is some-more bashful and nerdy, yet that is what is so endearing about him. He isn't happy with a unclothed minimum, yet binds himself to a aloft standard--just like Celene. He's had a vanquish on Celene for years--a bit of unrequited loved.
3. The action--Wow! There were a lot of cold movement scenes that played out nicely. It was easy to daydream what was happening, and we found myself totally held adult in it.
4. The romance--the chemistry between Celene and Nils solemnly built and grew. The march of their attribute felt unequivocally organic and real.

Even yet we unequivocally enjoyed this story and was so blissful that Ms. Archer continued this series, we didn't like it as many as a predecessor. The story revelation was beautifully executed with a singular plot. The universe was usually as clear and engrossing. we finally nailed it down to a fact that even yet we favourite Celene and Nils, we desired Mara and Kell many more. We don't get many backstory on Celene and Nils other than that they both went to a 8th Wing from happy homes. That's it. They are both driven by avocation and honor, and both are rarely disciplined. That's not a bad thing--it gave this story something different. And it was fun to watch a extraordinary things they did and created. With that said, we desired both Mara and Kell since they had many some-more corner and fraud in them. So, of march we had to collect adult COLLISION COURSE and examination that one...again.

Would we examination CHAIN REACTION again? Already have and know we will again. When asked on a book blog how many books we can design from this series, Ms. Archer pronounced it all depended on sales. So please, collect adult these books so she knows we suffer them and hopefully she'll provide us to another hot-shot 8th Wing pilot.

Science-Fiction Romance

Blurb:

Elite 8th Wing commander Celene Jur was taken serf after a puzzling device temporarily infirm her ship's controls. Thanks to Carina Press and NetGalley.com we had a event to examination this novella. we had picked it since we am a fan of Zoe Archer's Blades of a Rose array and suspicion it competence be engaging to try a opposite book by a author. we am unequivocally blissful we did. Chain Reaction is book 2 in Zoe Archer's 8th Wing series, and I'm unequivocally going to squeeze myself a duplicate of book 1 and demeanour brazen to a recover of book 3.

Zoe Archer writes with a talent for grabbing your courtesy and not vouchsafing we stop until a story is finished. The story was quick paced, adventurous, and all around exciting. we generally favourite a universe building. The author did a good pursuit in that aspect, she combined a universe that we truly believed, while reading it, could exist. The usually down side to this we suspicion was that since she delved so low into a world, a names of plants and animals etc were stated, yet we had zero to review a outline to so we had no thought what things unequivocally looked like and was left to my possess imagination there. Overall, not too bad of a censure and it was easy to over demeanour for a many partial and concede myself to suffer a story. A glossary of terms possibly before or after a story would have been helpful.

The characters are unequivocally strong, we adore myself a strong, kick-ass heroine, and generally we do cite a favourite to still be stronger if not her equal. In this novella, Celene was unequivocally and intensely clever heroine and a hero, Nils, concurred and supposed a fact that she in fact, is stronger than him. we consider this is one of a reasons we didn't mind a favourite being a tad underneath a heroine and in fact, they did provide any other as equals notwithstanding a believe that Celene is a stronger of a dual and this unequivocally worked for me. The favourite supposed a heroine for who she was, that in was intensely critical in a attribute arc of this story. And yet Nils is a Beta to Celene's Alpha, he is still clever in his possess right (and tantalizing to boot) a dual of them meshed intensely good together in my opinion.

Together, they helped to make a large hole in holding down a corporate hulk set on concept mastery and they didn't let their attribute get in a approach when it came to their pursuit duties, this shows a strength of their character, during slightest to me.

Overall this was a good examination and I'd suggest it to anyone who enjoys scholarship fiction/futuristic romance.
