INTERVIEW-Golf-Casey targets 2012 Ryder Cup and PGA Tour success

Dec 23 (Reuters) - Frustrated for many of this year by

a slow feet injury, Britain's Paul Casey has set his sights

on a healthy 2012 campaign, another feat on a U.S. PGA Tour

and a prolonged desired lapse to the European Ryder Cup team.

Though a Englishman won dual tournaments worldwide during

2011, his form and coherence were adversely influenced after he

was hampered by a bruise right toe in May, a condition that was

never accurately diagnosed until months later.

"It's been impossibly frustrating," Casey told. "The trouble

with a toe damage was that we didn't unequivocally know what was going

on until it was too late.

"I picked it adult in late May, battled by it and we didn't

really get a full diagnosis until August. By then, it was too

late to take a medical (exemption) so we attempted to play by it

and got into a lot of bad habits."

An 11-times leader on a European Tour whose usually PGA Tour

victory came during a 2009 Houston Open, Casey played with a plate

in his right shoe and his toes taped adult over a final six

months.

"It was a corner in my feet that wasn't permitting my feet to

move rightly and that put vigour on my toe," a world

number 21 said.

"What's engaging is that if we pitch a bar a approach I

should pitch it, rightly and a approach we used to pitch it, the

toe is fine.

"But those bad habits led to haphazard golf. My weight got

back on a heels and a bar started to go adult rather than

around, unequivocally simply it was too steep."

Casey, who climbed to a career-high third in a world

rankings in 2009, has worked tough in new months to change his

weight behind on to his toes, and on to a balls of a feet.

"That's where it should be," he said. "I need to do a better

Asked to consider his 2011 campaign, Casey replied: "Well I've
